The Fully Funded UNU Junior Fellows Internship in Japan is open to all national. The United Nations University offers Internship 2024 in Tokyo, Japan at the UNU Office of the Rector in Tokyo. It is a 4-month internship to work as a Junior Fellow at the UNU headquarters. Graduate students interested in the work of the United Nations are encouraged to apply. The Internship will last for 16 weeks and the Fellows are expected to start working from 12th August 2024 to 20th December 2024.
It will provide a monthly stipend to cover the cost of living expenses and Transportation from their country to UNU headquarters located in Shibuya. Junior fellows are entitled to 1.5 days of leave per month. Weekends and official UNU holidays are days off. Junior fellows will also be provided with office space and other facilities for free.
Purpose and the Intern’s Responsibilities
- The Purpose of the program is to provide applicants an opportunity to understand and learn more about UNU’s working sides.
- Applicants will work with different fellows under their guidance and mentor.
- Interns will get and gain experience in the UNU work.
- Interns will attend meetings and will write the minutes of the meeting.
- Preparation and dissemination of newsletters, event summaries, and other communication documents.

Eligibility
- The Fellowship is open to all students from all countries.
- Currently studying or has recently completed (within two years of application) postgraduate studies (master’s or doctoral).
- Age should be under 32 years at the time of application.
- Must not have more than 5 years of work experience.
- Should have advanced computer skills.
- IELTS or TOEFL is not required if the candidate has completed a previous degree from an English Medium Institute.
